Through the vision and perspective of sociology of education, this forum is concerned with the progress and analysis of important international and local education theories, practices and experiences, and has listed the following important topics for the participants to explore and discuss the corresponding solution strategies:
Debates on basic theories related to sociology of education
Selection of research methods in sociology of education
Dilemmas and strategies of AI technology and education system
Implementation and maintenance of educational equity for diverse groups
Adaptation and control of school organization and culture
Subcultural identities and variations among youth
Application and influence of digital technology and tools
Changes in teacher education systems and the social status of teachers
Promotion and reinforcement of multicultural education

Call for Papers
This conference is open to the public, and the electronic file of the call for papers in Mandarin will be sent to all members of the Taiwan Association for the Sociology of Education. The electronic file in English will also be sent to the Secretariat of the Research Committee on Sociology of Education (RC04) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) for distribution to its members and posting on the committee's web site and newsletter. The poster will be announced by the Department of Education and Learning Technology, National Tsing Hua University, with the help of the education-related faculties and departments of domestic universities.
Notes for Submission
Language: Mandarin or English.
Abstracts will be reviewed based on topic and quality, and should be 300 to 500 words in English (or 600 to 1,000 words in Mandarin), including research motivation, purpose, methodology, and conclusions of major findings or expected results.
Please fill out the “Form of Basic Information and Paper Abstracts for Authors” (Appendix I), specifying the author's name, affiliation, and position (for students, please include the school and department of study). Check the topic(s), and send it to tase2025nthu@gmail.com by the submission deadline (February 10, 2025) with the subject line: “31st Taiwan Forum on Sociology of Education_Article Title_Author’s name” (e.g., 31st Taiwan Forum on Sociology of Education_ Study on Experiences and Opinions of New Female Immigrants on Cultural Citizenship_ Chen, A. S.).
Review system
Abstracts will be reviewed by the Editorial Board of the TSSCI journal, Research on Sociology of Taiwan Education, affiliated with the Taiwan Association for the Social Studies of Education (TASE). Five categories of papers will be reviewed: academic papers in Mandarin, academic papers in English, outstanding doctoral dissertations, outstanding master's dissertations, and graduate student dissertations. An anonymous review system will be used to select papers for publication.
Full paper & Slides submission requirements
To enhance the effectiveness of academic communication and conversation, presenters of this conference are only required to submit abstracts, without full paper submissions. The aim is to facilitate the production of immediate results from exchanging dialogues and the subsequent text publication.
Submission of Slides: Please submit your slides before the conference or bring them to the conference venue on the day of the conference.
Format of Slides: Please prepare both .ppt/.pptx and PDF format to ensure a successful presentation.
